The pairing of progesterone with nano-sized CBD oil in the right dosage may provide a number of synergistic benefits for  women in childbearing years up to post-menopause.

Neurochemistry changes – as hormones decrease through aging and/or external factors, it effects serotonin levels/receptors and other neurotransmitters and neuron generation in the hippocampus with fewer synaptic connections formed. CBD will activate serotonin receptors and increase neuro-protective mechanisms and increase synaptic plasticity which will offset mood swings, and depression and maintain cognitive levels.

As hormones decrease, levels of inflammatory molecules increase, specifically TNF-alpha (tumor necrosis factor).  TNF has been linked to cognitive problems and osteoporosis. Osteoporosis has been linked to a hormone deficiency and may very well return to normal with the pairing of progesterone and CBD.

CBD is a potent anti-inflammatory that will decrease the levels of inflammatory molecules. Osteoporosis has been linked to increased levels of TNF-alpha. CBD would lower the levels of this inflammatory molecule and may reverse bone loss.

CBD is also a potent vasodilator, increasing blood flow to the pelvic region, which in turn moisturizes the vagina canal; and as an anti-inflammatory relaxes the muscles and calming pain perceiving sensory nerves in the vulva and the vagina, with increased libido. CBD infused progesterone has a synergistic effect as progesterone provides these same characteristics.

What is progesterone?

Fertility and menstruation are largely controlled by hormones, and one of these hormones is progesterone. Progesterone is a steroid hormone belonging to a class of hormones called progestogens. It is secreted by the corpus luteum, a temporary endocrine gland that the female body produces after ovulation during the second half of the menstrual cycle.

Progesterone is a precursor to most of the other steroid hormones, including cortisol, androstenedione, the estrogens and even testosterone.

In a normally cycling female, the corpus luteum produces 20 to 30 mg of progesterone daily during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle.

What is Estrogen Dominance?

Estrogen dominance is a term that describes a condition where the normal balance of estrogen to progesterone is changed by excess estrogen or inadequate progesterone. Estrogen is a potent and potentially dangerous hormone when not balanced by adequate progesterone.

Women suffering from pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) to women suffering from menopausal symptoms, will recognize the hallmark symptoms of estrogen dominance: weight gain, bloating, mood swings, irritability, tender breasts, headaches, fatigue, depression, hypoglycemia, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and fibrocystic breasts.

Estrogen dominance is known to cause and/or contribute to cancer of the breast, ovary and endometrium (uterus).

What is CBD?

There are few scientists or medical doctors with significant experience in the CBD industry.  Hemp has been illegal for many years in the United States until the passage of the Hemp Farming Act of 2018, passed on December 20, 2018.  Prior, it was difficult to research, develop, and understand the many aspects of a hemp plant.  Cannabidiol, aka CBD, is one of 104 chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. CBD can be derived from marijuana, or from its genetic cousin, hemp. Unlike THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is not psychoactive, but has been proven to have many different therapeutic effects. CBD does so by interacting with the receptors of the human body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate pain, appetite, mood, memory, immunity, and sleep. Because CBD has been until very recently a schedule 1 substance banned by federal statute, scientific research is still in its early phases, but there is emerging evidence that CBD may help relieve an amazing array of conditions and ailments.   For more on CBD, please see our dedicated CBD page by clicking HERE.

What is Nano Emulsified CBD?

“Nanoemulsion” or “nanotechnology” is an under-developed methodology not previously paired with a micronized progesterone drug and CBD.  Nanotechnology manipulates atoms, molecules, and supramolecular formations, reducing their scale to between 1 and 100 nanometers (nm).  This process reduces particles to one-millionth of their original size and even greater.  The technical expertise we employ in creating a “bioavailable” nanosized CBD compound in a laboratory testing environment combined with both bioidentical progesterone and nanosized progesterone can escalate the medical and health benefits with different combinations and doses. Nanosizing increases the bioavailability of CBD and Progesterone exponentially and permits an easier distribution through the body and increases the delivery time.  For more on CBD, please visit our page dedicated to CBD HERE.

Bioidentical Progesterone vs. Synthetic Progestins

There is a lot of confusion, even with experts in hormone balancing, between the terms progesterone, progestin, and progestogen. Each are quite different. According to Women in Balance,, “progesterone” refers to the hormone produced in the body, or produced from a plant source but still chemically and structurally identical to human progesterone, and it is therefore referred to as “bioidentical” or “natural”. “progestin” is a synthetically produced hormone, and various types used in hormone therapy. Yet, progesterone is a singular molecule. refers to a hormone that is synthetically produced and differs in structure from progesterone. There are numerous synthetic progestins used in hormone therapy, in contrast to only one molecule referred to as progesterone. “Progestogen” is a general term for hormones that act like progesterone in the uterus, and therefore includes both progesterone and progestins. We know that these various progestins don’t mimic progesterone at the target tissue level. Unfortunately, the use of progestins were used in clinical trials in the early 70s and were shown to increase the risk of breast cancer. More unfortunate, is the studies never included natural bio identical progesterone and too many potential women that can benefit from natural progesterone don’t realize that there is a difference

Why would a younger women need progesterone?

In the years leading up to menopause, many women regularly have anovulatory cycles in which they make enough estrogen to create menstruation, but they don’t make any progesterone, thus setting the stage for estrogen dominance. Using progesterone cream during anovulatory months can help prevent the symptoms of PMS.

We now know that PMS can occur despite normal progesterone levels when stress is present. Stress increases cortisol production; cortisol blockades (or competes for) progesterone receptors. Additional progesterone is required to overcome this blockade.  We also assert that CBD may provide an entourage effect with respect  to reduction of cortisol.

We are an ingredient focused company that relies heavily on plants to deliver results. We demand that our ingredients are grown using organic farming practices to ensure the highest quality end product. Each ingredient we use that starts as a seed is certified organic. We take great care in sourcing ingredients of the highest quality.

How long before I notice a difference?

We strongly encourage our valued customers to test their progesterone levels regularly and work with their health care professional that is trained in bioidentical hormone replacement and supplementation. Individual results certainly will vary.

Yet, this is what we do know.  Since we use nano-emulsisions, fat levels tend to reach saturation much faster and continued doses result in an increase in progesterone levels and therefore a quicker and stronger physiological effect. Thus, some women notice results immediately.

How should I store my product?

Felicity Organics products should be stored in a cool, dark place, and away from humidity. Our main progesterone cream is packaged in a double insulated airglass container. This is double protection to preserve and protect the precious ingredients inside each jar.

What is the actual Progesterone made from?

The USP progesterone used for hormone replacement comes from plant fats and oils, usually a substance called diosgenin which is extracted from a very specific type of wild yam that grows in Mexico.
